Warzone S3 E1:
Trios Titles Finals:
Los Angeles, California:
There are no shortage of words to describe the universe’s way of balancing the scales. Martin Luther King Jr. said the arc of the universe bends towards justice.
There was the belief in Karma. That your actions, good and bad, stayed with you and the universe would reward you for the good and punish you for the bad.
There was Destiny, or kismet, as some would refer to it. Fate.
Whichever you wanted to use, the fact that Rob Riot could do nothing but watch as his daughter climbed up and ripped the titles that he and his bastards had declared to be theirs…
Kara breathed deep and thoroughly enjoyed the Schadenfreude, or the experience of deriving joy from watching other’s misfortune.
Kara did not consider herself a particularly vindictive person, but the Bastards deserved it. All the short cuts. The 2 sneak attacks in 2 shows. One being victimizing her, her brother, and Greg Salazar. And they had the gall to be surprised that Bad Company decided to help ensure the Bastards lost the title.
Only an Englishman could muster such arrogance. Okay, maybe a Frenchman too, Kara supposed.
A week after Warzone S3 E2:
Team Reinhardt Prep
Portland, Oregon
Kronin looked over the city of Portland as he took a sip of his coffee and nodded. “Well, I can agree with Rob Riot on one thing. This city is probably about as close to European, as America comes. Gives me hope that maybe the Americans can join the civilized world at some point.”
Rayven comes out and stands on the balcony next to her father and nods. “I don’t get why they make such a big deal about religion.
Listening to his daughter Kronin nods. “Well, that’s our fault. England, France and Holland kicked out the Puritans.. They came here. We in Europe tend to forget that the United States is only about.. 250 ish years old. Took most of us a lot longer than that to get our shit together. We need to look at the U.S. as a teenager and just wait for them to grow and mature.
Lilly pokes her head out. “We need to begin prep for the next show, babe.”
Kronin turns his head over to look at Lilly and smirks. “We’re taking on the von Krauss’ clown brigade. You are anticipating a challenge?”
Lilly, without missing a beat, sighs. “I’m expecting the Von Krauss duo to stack the deck.”
Kara pokes her head out. “Lilly might be right. We have a staff meeting. Mandatory.
A short while later, the Reinhardt clan arrived at Oregon State University.
For his part, Kronin leaned against one of the turnbuckles and listened, first as the Bastards confused losing a match with a grand conspiracy against them. A flurry of complaints that caused the Conquest Champion and half of the tag team champions to roll his eyes and crack a smile when Lilly made a violin playing motion.
Kara, for her part, was also less than impressed with the Bastards whining, looking to her brother and speaking in German “Did they never learn actions have consequences?”
Kronin shook his head. “No, my sister, apparently they did not” Kronin replied in German. He perks up as he hears Armand tell Rob Riot that if he gets the Ikon Triple Title, he can get a title shot at Kronin’s Conquest title at the pay per view.
Rayven leaned against the Ring apron. “Hey dad, doesn’t he get a shot anyways?”
Kronin shook his head. “CWF doesn’t have rematch clauses. Which is an idea I actually approve of. Too easy for top tier talent to pass titles and title shots amongst themselves. By forcing a former champ to earn their way back into the picture, it drives home consequences for losing and also gives a chance for new blood to get into the title picture.”
As Armand goes on about how he is control, Kara glances over at Valora and moves over to Kronin nudging him, again speaking in German “Valora is entirely too calm and comfortable.”
Kronin looked at Valora. A woman he had extensive history with as a rival and a ally. From when both first met each other in the ring in a regional promotion, Wrestling Midwest, based in Cleveland, Ohio. Now, with over 20 yrs of dealing with the woman under his belt, he had to agree with his twin sister. Everything about Valora’s body language conveyed that she believed she had something up her sleeve.
Then one of the new hires opened his mouth, and things quickly spiraled. Armand ordered CWF wrestlers to attack Charlie Feigel. Abbigail jumps to defend him. Kara and Kronin were about to join her when Valora came in and played peacemaker. Kronin tilted his head as he listened to her and looked to Kara. She was thinking the same thing. Valora was acting like she intended to follow through on her threat to buy CWF in whole or part.
Valora’s insult of the short bus has Kara looking at Kronin confused and Kronin sighs. “Here in the States, kids with mental handicaps and learning disabilities ride a special bus to schools meant to cater to their needs. These buses are shorter than the usual school bus which has led to American slang of ‘riding the short bus’ as being a way to try to be clever about calling someone mentally handicapped.” Kara makes a face, making no effort to hide her disapproval
When Armand agrees to Valora’s ‘price’ Lilly blinks and jumps on the ring apron. “He agreed to her price without hearing what it was!” Kronin nods. “And Val will make him regret that. She’s smarter than she lets on.”
Rob Riot adds his parting shot, which brings another eye roll and a yawn from Kronin.
After the meeting, Kronin and Kara had some time to kill while Lilly and Rayven look into getting information on potentially getting Rayven enrolled in some classes. The information will be added to the other options Rayven considers. Meanwhile, Kara and Kronin grab some coffee and discuss the upcoming match.
Kara speaking first as she looks to her brother. “So, why did we stay quiet during the meeting?”
Kronin shrugs. “It wasn’t a serious meeting. Armand von Krauss has no intention of actually doing anything. He was hoping for his enemies to reveal themselves. Besides, we have two of his lackeys in the match this week.
Kara nods. “The clowns. Yes. We have to defend the titles against them. Interesting how they were given favorable opponents to get them here.”
Kronin nods. “Again, this is why we kept silent during the meeting. He was given actual complaints mixed in with the usual whining and he ignored them. As champs, there’s already a target on our backs and the von Krauss’ already know we’re not allies. I would rather focus on.”
Kronin cuts himself off as some of the college students recognize the professional wrestlers and Kronin and Kara soon have a small crowd around them, as they sign autographs and take selfies with the college students interested in doing so.
Team Reinhardt hotel rooms
Portland, Oregon
The four members of Team Reinhardt sit around the screen as Lilly stands up and clears her throat. “Okay, so when Marx and Engells talk about the Bourgeoisie, Kharnival of Shadows is like the textbook example of what they were referring to.”
Kara clears her throat. “Most of us are not communists. Politics aside, if they are the textbook example, what proof do you have on this and how does it help us?”
Lilly looks at Kara and nods. “Well without the double lightning bolts, I keep forgetting you’re a member of the new SS sweetheart. Also, I’m not a communist either. Now, onto the question.”
Lilly clicks the remote and some clips of the past matches play. “Flair and flamboyance. This is a team of people much more concerned with looking good than the actual results.” She clicks again and list of food charges pop up.
“Then, we have this.” Lilly begins. “Rayven asked around and I spent some money to get some of the hired help to talk. This is how much they are spending.. They are actually fuckin’ having multi course meals.”
Kronin crosses his arms across his chest and looks over the list of charges. He doesn’t care about the money spent. That is for the Kharnival and the von Krauss duo to worry about. He’s looking at the food and tilts his head. “Huh. They don’t know how to manage their diet for a fight.”
Kara perks at this and stands, joining her twin as she looks over the list and nods. “No, they really don’t.” Rayven raises her hand. “Hey! They’re eating that now.. They have days until the show, right?”
Kara smirks. “No. Food stays in your body a lot longer than you think it does. It might be Wednesday now, but you very likely still have food you ate over the weekend working its way through your digestive tract. Also, if you’re planning for a fight, you need to be careful. Too much food and you might go into a new weight class. Too little carbs and you might not have enough energy to handle training and the fight proper. Too much rich, sugary junk food and, in the short term you’ll have energy but in the long term it will hurt as your body spends more energy and resources to digest the food than it will gain from digesting it.”
Kronin nods. “In short, they’re being kind enough to do half our job for us.”
Lilly clears her throat. “Assuming, of course they are human. They work for von Krauss so we might want to consider the possibility that, like Valora, diet doesn’t affect them the same way it does us.”
Kara sighs. “I find myself wanting to agree with Rob Riot. I miss the days when humans fought other humans.”
Kronin nods. “ Be that as it may, we have to be prepared to deal with the current reality. So, when it comes time for the promo, we can attack them on their arrogance”
Kara nods. “What are we doing for our promo?”
Rayven jumps up. “Well, if you’re fighting the Bourgeoisie, then be the champions of the People. We did get invited to a town hall.”
Lilly picks up. “Press conference, only college students, maybe journalism students.”
Kronin and Kara look at each other and shrug, speaking in unison. “Sure.”
Champions of the People
Oregon State University:
The camera comes on to show a number of students and faculty of Oregon State University gathered around a stage. On the Stage we see Kronin and Kara, each one has a mic. Behind them Rayven and Lilly sit, looking over the crowd and behind the stage is a big screen ready to show whatever the twins have planned. Kronin leads off. “Hey Oregon State! I’m Kronin, this is my twin sister, Kara and we are your duly appointed representative of CWF today. So, if you have a question, by all means ask it and let’s have a bit of fun.
Lilly moves up and picks one of the students. They stand up and.. “Rob Riot has had some tough words about you as champ, Kronin. How do you respond?”
Kronin laughs a bit and shrugs. “By giving him a taste of his own arrogance and condescension thrown right back at him. Rob Riot is not my opponent on this show and thus he does not merit my consideration or response. But I find it oddly tragic his ego can’t allow him to take joy in his daughter’s success. He truly is a miserable excuse for a human being. Even Valora, who up until now would have definitely been in my top 3 list of the most self centered people I know, can take pride in her daughter’s success.”
Another student is called on and they fire their question. “But We don’t know Abbigail is Rob Riot’s daughter.” Kronin laughs and shakes his head. “He has not admitted it publicly. That’s not the same thing as us not knowing. Anyone who follows Valora’s career knows that she strongly prefers women. Rob Riot is the only man I know for sure she was involved with.”
Kara chimes in. “Now granted, we don’t keep up with the love lives of wrestlers and such..”
Kronin picks up seamlessly from his twin. “But Valora and Riot’s relationship has been quite public. Now look at Abbigail. Watch her move and you can see Valora’s genes at work. That fight against Billy Fowler? It was scary how similar to Val, Abbigail moved. But when you look at her too, you can tell her other parent was most definitely British. Now, is it possible Valora found some other British guy to sire a kid with?”
Kara nods. “Yeah. But the most likely answer is that it was her boyfriend, Rob Riot.”
The next student asks their question. “Star Trek, which faction and race do you two like?”
Both Kronin and Kara answer in unison. “Federation.”
Kronin shrugs. “Well given how long the series has gone on, I’ll have to give you a few answers.”For most of Trek, I’d have said Vulcans first with Andorians a second. I’d probably keep that but I also like the concept behind the liberated borg and the Denobulans.”
Kara smirks. “Vulcans.” Bringing a small laugh from the assembled students.
The next question is wrestling related as a student stands up. “Your title defense against the Kharnival of Shadows. Thoughts on your opponents?”
Kara, decides to have a bit of fun and gives her best Vulcan style eyebrow raise. “They are..highly illogical creatures. Their inability to rise above their base natures and their,, complete lack of an attempt to control their emotions showcases just how far from enlightenment they are.”
Kronin picks up, also giving the vulcan impression a go. “Their lack of discipline and control will be the cause of their undoing. Perhaps they will be on the receiving end of the famous ‘Vulcan Hello.’ when they get into the ring with us.”
Switching back to her normal speaking tone, Kara laughs a bit. “Seriously, though. They’re living in their own little world, and why not. Theyare Armand’s lackeys. Bought and paid for. So they can be arrogant. They don’t have to pay attention to anything outside of their own matches. They can just make blanket assumptions about how clever and super flamboyant and evil they are. But I mean not real evil, but more like.. Bond villian evil.”
Kronin shrugs. “But we’re totally gonna rock them like a hurricane.” He says with a wink to the crowd.”
Kara lets out a laugh. “One might say they’ll be Thunderstruck.”
Kronin comes back in. “We might be Team Reinhardt, but we’re also Bad Company. And The Khranival’s foppish clowns are about to get one hell of a reality check.” Kronin says as he looks to Lilly.
Lilly hits the remote and the crowd is treated to a clip of Kara taking Kelea and driving her head first into the chest of Ahklut, her twin brother. Kara smirks and shrugs. “Cause if you don’t remove your heads from your asses.. That could happen to you. But you degenerates might enjoy that, I think.”
Kronin picks up from there. “The Marquis and his partner Madame death by mammary gland, are too busy re-enacting the French royalty and nobility right before the French Revolution. And just as the 1st and 2nd Estates of pre-revolutionary France were humbled by the masses, so these two are drastically unprepared for the fight coming their way. They have a series of mistaken assumptions and mix this with their own arrogance”
Kara picks up from here. “And added together this makes for one easy title defense for us.”
